| This site is the e-version of a solo exhibition which ran in February of of 2000 at theThe Center for the Arts in Natick (Sue Memhard - Curator), and in April/May of 2000 at the The Weston Public Library (Lelia Orrell Elliston - Curator). The exhibitions honors the life of Harriet Hamond Elliston, a multifaceted feminist, activist, wife, mother, community leader, anthropologist, naturalist, gardener, and painter. Best known for her dedication to civil rights and her work with the Roxbury-Weston Programs bridging the racial chasm, Harriet Elliston's paintings reflect the experiences of a life spanning several continents, generations, and nearly a century. | |
